Suggest Treatment For Dull Headache After Eating Berries

ok. I have started drinking green smoothies that have fruit in them. Eg today I had leafy greens with coconut milk and banana and frozen berries and almonds. in a short space of time I got a dull headache that lasted a while. It improved upon eating some protein. Do I have hypoglycemia? I get worse if I have sth sweet to eat and improve if I have protein, what s going on?

Possibly you are having migraine headaches.
Migraine headache are triggered by many things- sunlight exposure, loud noise, lack of proper sleep, skipping meals on time, fasting, and specific smell/food.
Alcohol, chocolate, and caffeine, Chocolate, Sulfites used as preservatives in red wine, Coffee, Cheese, Monosodium glutamate (MSG) which is found in soy sauce and as a food additive in many other foods, Ice Cream,
also Bananas if you are sensitive to tyramine are the usual food triger for migraine headaches.
The sensitivity to a particular smell, food is variable for each individual.
If you feel some food as triggering the headache, You should avoid that particular food.

Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, your symptoms seem to be related to a metabolic disorder.

The fact that your symptoms improve after taking proteins, can exclude possible hypoglycemia (which is relieved by sugar intake).

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination and some lab tests (complete blood count, fasting glucose, glucose tolerance test, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Greetings!
