I am having a dull pain on my left chest just under my nipple area. It does not go away and stays for days. It s more like a discomfort than a pain. It does not change when I take a deep breath or cough. seems to have a discomfort on my left back as well. I seem to have problem of stomach gas and acidity sometime.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Persistent discomfort below the nipple area could be nerve or tendon related issue.

* Initial management with anti-inflammatory medications, (not pain killers), gabapentin type nerve modulators with supportive care and later if required one may need to go for definite evaluation as MRI or else as per the clinical need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

General Surgeon Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the dull discomfort with back pain may be indicative of segmental nerve related issue or reflux of stomach acid with intestine issues.

In my clinic, after thorough history and physical examination, I do recommend certain dietary measures, symptomatic therapy as proton pump inhibitor, analgesic and later if needed ultrasound or X-ray examination accordingly.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Wish you the best of health.

Thank you.

Regards,

Pulmonologist Dr. Dr. Jolanda's  Response
Hello,

As you explain the situation it might be from gastric reflux or of musculoskeletal origin. First, you can use Omeprazole for two weeks and see if the pain improves. If not, then painkillers probably might help.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
