Suggest Treatment For Eating Disorder In A Child

Dear sir,
My daughter is 4 yrs old and eating slate pencils. We tried a lot to get rid of it. But no use. Even i had given calcium, iron and multi-vitamin syrps. Still she is eating. After 3 to 4 hours of eating the slate pencil she develops cough for about 4 hours. After that she will become normal. What can u suggest

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. This is called pica. It is not an eating disorder. Usually iron deficiency is the main cause for this. I suggest you consult your pediatrician and get some prescriptions for iron and calcium supplements as you have done earlier and try tal9king to her out of this habit.
