Suggest Treatment For Edema Causing Difficulty In Walking

my husband has suffered from edema since he was diagnosed with pulminary hypertinshion and now the swelling has went down after about 3mo. and he is in severe pain can t walk and is bound to a walker night and day no relief on wednesday I took him to get a referrial to see the pulminary specialest and a kidney specialest and the DNP who he thought was a MD would not even think about giveing him anything for relief said to go to the ER but he can t even walk outside the house yesterday or today Ihave heard about gabapentin would his help please help me
