Suggest Treatment For Epileptic Person Undergoing Depression

i am epileptic, taking keppra for my seizures, mother of a 3 year old and 2 month old, scientist by profession, unable to handle problems related to my marriage, shortly moving to chennai from new york, i need medical help, should i see a psychiatrist or psycologist

Commonly used antidepressants cause decrease in seizure threshold and increases the risk of seizures. Still newer drugs like SSRIs as Escitalopram, Sertaline are safer in seizures as compared to conventional antidepressants. Other drugs like Lamotrizine which is a mood stabiliser is very useful in depression and the drugs is also a good anti epileptic drug.
As you have also problems related to marriage also it is better to consult a good Psychologist for problem solving and then Psychiatrist for proper treatment.
