I was discharged from a hospital after an 8 day stay for an esophageal tear on Tuesday. I did not require surgery....instead it was 7 days of no food or liquids orally, 2 broad spectrum IV antibiotics, saline, and Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium as my electrolytes were very low as a result of dehydration. I had vomited for a 20 hour period. The rupture healed nicely on its own. Morphine for pain and something for the chronic nausea. I am home now, but not really feeling better. I still feel nauseous (the smell of food can be triggering as can movement) I have vomited twice after a spell of uncontrollable shaking, followed by vomiting and then profuse sweating. I think one episode was a gall bladder attack since I have a history. But, it happened again last night. My stomach in general is bothering me (bloated, gassy, achy). I am on a liquid diet, but I am struggling even with that. I also continue to feel very weak and my mood is low. Thoughts?
