Suggest Treatment For Eye Infection Due To Shingles While On Acyclovir 500mg

i am 69 and I have shingles. Had them in the past. Only this time my eyes are infected I take Acyclovir, 200 mg 5 times a da, not sure what to do regarding my eyes rash on forehead and pulling tingling sensation in the outer corner of both eyes. Donna S.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Eye infection needs to be treated with antibiotics.
Kindly put Moxifloxacin eye drops every 2 hourly for 5 days. Use artificial tears drops thrice daily. Apply Moxifloxacin eye ointment at bedtime.
Kindly continue to take Acyclovir as prescribed.
Gradually, your symptoms of eye as well as shingles should subside and be back to normal.
