Suggest Treatment For Fever In A Pregnant Women

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Hi, I am a physician, i received a 12 week-pregnant patient, she has 2 days history with fever, confusion. On admission, she was confused, neck-stiff. WBC:20.000/mm3, neutrophil predominant, Brain CT scan is normal. CSF: WC 200/mm3 lymphocyte pridominant with normal glucose and lactate, protein increased. What diagnoses should be?

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Fever, altered sensorium, neck stiffness, and CSF showing predominance of lymphocytes and proteins make the diagnosis of tubercular meningitis more likely.
I would suggest you to refer her to a neurologist so that proper evaluation can be done and antitubercular treatment can be started timely to avoid further complications.
