Suggest Treatment For Fever With Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain

Hi Doctor , I have a patient that has had 3 days of vomiting, diarrhea, and now fever on the third day with accompanying abdominal pain.. Stool sample has not returned but CBC shows elevated WBC and hgb/hct. High absolute neutrophils but low lymphocytes and 0 eosinophils. Low sodium and chloride and elevated AST... What should I be thinking..I place him on flagyl and don't know where else to head...what do you suggest is there anything else I can do to help this young man recover...

Hi welcome to healthcare magic forum,
Along with infection in abdomen he also has some circulating bacteria in blood and intestine so along with flagy he also requires some antibiotics like Tab-Ciplox 500 mg or Tab-Oflox 400 mg any these 2 times a day plus rehydrate him with ORS (important),and plenty of oral fluid, wait for the stool examination once you get report shift to the antibiotics as per your stool report.
Regards,
Thanks.
