Hello sir..I am 26 yrs old & i went for the medical test for the visa purpose which includes X-ray ... report says something like fibrosis... i have talked to my doctor he said it's a scar of some old infection which is called as fibrosis.. i had TB long time back... is there anything to worry about?? if yes kindly tell me what should i do further i am bit tensed kindly help...
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. What are having is old healed tuberculosis. Pulmonary tuberculosis -most often heals by fibrosis and calcification. Fibrosis is a sequel. However there remains a risk of reactivation of old healed lesion. The factors causing break-down of previously healed lesions are: Malnutrition Alcoholism Poorly controlled diabetes mellitus Silicosis Immuno-suppression (by disease or drugs) Post-gastrectomy and jejunoileal bypass surgery Chronic hemodialysis
