Suggest Treatment For Finger Pain After Treated Fracture

I fractured my 5th metacarpal approximately 4 1/2 weeks ago. My orthopedist has told me I don't need to wear a cast now or do supportive strapping. My finger seems to be getting stronger. However, when extending it my finger sometimes jumps around a little bit. Also, at times when my hand grasps an object the finger feels very weak. Could the ligaments be damaged and how long for them to heal possibly? The bone was at 25 degrees of angulation.
