Suggest Treatment For Food Poisoning

my husband is diabetic on pills wasn t feeling good yesterday ate breakfast sausage eggs and toast at noon he had soup last night he got sick, had diarrhea getting hot and cold flashes sweating didn t feel like eating supper d was really tired went to bed @ 630pm was up all night getting sick diarrhea an took his pills this morning went to the fridge and collapsed he was all wet from sweat kinda not with it I helped him up and he ate a slice of toast and went back to bed got up at noon and ate 2 butterscotch jello puddings sugar free, but he does feel better he s back in bed feeling a lot better but I think he should go see the doctor tomorrow he refused to go to the hospital this morning he said it was because he didn t eat last night

This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

He has some food poisoning leading to diaarhea. Do the following-

Give ofloxacin-ornidazole tablet twice daily for 5 days.
Give him lots of fluid per oral, keeping his diabetes in mind. Not much sugar to be given.
Get his capillary blood glucose checked.
Give him semi solid diabetic diet for 2 days.

Contact your local doctor for prescription of the above.
