Suggest Treatment For Forearm Fracture In A Child

My 4-year-old grandson broke his forearm on Saturday. He was given Lortab for pain. We gave it to him last night around 8:00, thinking it would ease his discomfort and help him to sleep. He was wired and didn t go to sleep until 11:30 p.m. His mother gave him some again today and found she had a wild child. It is very hard to keep him still with his arm elevated and iced like instructed. I suspect the culprit is the Lortab. Am I right?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that he might be having Collece's fracture and might require urgent consultation with orthopedic surgeon.
He might require correction of fracture and plaster.
If there is a fracture then pain relieving medicine will have less effect.
Ok and take care.
