Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination Sensation

i am a 53 year old male andi am having trouble urinating. i feel the need to go almost all the time since monday. i need to go about every 5 minutes and when i go i only pass an ounce or less at a time. i had a sharp pain in my lower right back (kidney i guess) friday around noon and again a few minutes ago. the pain was severe but only lasted about 5 minutes or so each time. after pain subsides i feel fine and dont feel like i have to urinate. i made an appt with a urologist when the symptoms started but cant get it until 7-2-14. if the pain doesnt come back or keeps subsiding can i wait until 7-2-14 or do i need to go to the emergency room to avoid some sort of further severe damage?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have frequency and urgency in urination with pain. You may have benign prostatic hyperplasia with prostatits or some other urinary tract infection. It leads to urinary retention. You should go for urine examination, ultrasound abdomen and serum PSA level. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then you should take treatment accordingly. Till you get exact diagnosis you should take a course of antibiotics. Levofloxacin or norfloxacin should be taken. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
