Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last year I tried crystal meth based on curiosity. Up till yesterday, I only did it couple times on rare occasions, not more than 10 times. But lately, since the 2 times before this I used it, everytime I did it and missed couple hours from meal time I ended up in a bad gastritis. I felt like I want to throw up and such. Could it be the meth effecting my stomach in anyway, or is it just an ordinary gastritis?
Hi, Causes of gastritis are helicobactor pylori infection, oily and spicy diet,or drug induced. Methamphetamine never causes gastritis. You can go for routine blood count,ESR,urinalysis with ultrasound abdomen with upper GI endoscopy to rule out other gastric pathology and to confirm gastric inflammation. You may require h2 blockers like ranitidine or proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole, rabeprazole etc with cryoprotective drugs like sucralfate, misoprostol etc. It underlying cause is H pylori then you will require triple drug regimen means two antibiotics and PPI. Consult your gastroenterologist for further advice.
