If there are any abnormalities then treatment can be directed towards them. Drugs like metformin and drospirinone are helpful. The main stay of therapy is weight loss, a proper diet low in sugar and fat and rich in proteins [ sprouts or egg whites boiled or baked or steamed fish], fruits and vegetables and regular exercise at least 5-6 days a week. Stress management also helps control hormonal imbalances and help with symptoms. Even with this treatment many women do not get regular periods. So for them inducing a period every 3 months is needed to help control the growth of uterine lining and decrease the risk of cancer. Childbearing often helps in curing the disease. Drilling the ovaries and rupturing the cysts helps in cure and is used if pregnancy is desired. But as of now, since you are not married this is not an option. So do not worry.
