Suggest Treatment For Gout In The Knee

Hi, My husband started having head cold systems 2 weeks ago and 2 days after is started ended up with gout in his knee. Cold got a little better until 4 days ago, now he is running fever and vomiting. Took to clinic on Saturday and no flu, just a head cold. No meds were given. Sleeps when he is not vomiting and drinking very little. Any suggestions?

Thank you for the question. Many viral fevers cause joint pains and should not be confused with arthritis. However get serum uric acid test done and X ray of the knee to r/o gout. Also get ESR and complete blood counts , CRP, ASO titre. For Pain relief take acetaminophen650mg twice daily wait for reports to confirm before specific treatment for gout/arthritis
