Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of trichoptilosis, my treatment advice is:

1. Don't scratch the hair as it may worsen the condition.
2. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk.
3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin B12 supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are topical steroid and oral anti-psychotic given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
