Suggest Treatment For Headache After A Head Injury

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I hit the top of my head on a low beam in my basement, it hurt a lot bu the pain was gone within 10 mins, no real bump and felt fine after, now 24hrs later i have a headache, it makes me feel a bit sick but i haven't been sick, no blurred vision or anything.

Hello there and welcome,

Well I've gone through your query and seems like you've experienced a mild traumatic head injury. Don't worry as you may experience this headache even after 24hrs which may persist for a few days . Since you havn't experienced all those symptoms that you've mentioned, you can just keep an eye on yourself, meanwhile just apply a ice-pack / a bag of frozen peas as there can development of some lump over the affected area even afterwards.

If the headache is unbearable then just take Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg three times a day after food for 2-3 days. you should be fine within a few days just take rest and avoid involving into any strenuous activities(operating any heavy vehicle/gym/driving etc.).

But if you feel like your getting sicker or experience any other alarming features of head injury just contact your nearest ER at the earliest and get a CT- Scan of head done
