Suggest Treatment For Headache While On Hydralazine
My mother has been taking Hydralazine 25mg twice a day for about one week and she is suffering from almost all of the side effects, including headache pounding fast heartbeat, nausea, and dizziness, she also takes atenolol, and lorsartan. Her doctor is on vacation and the on call doctor suggested urgent care, i am at a loss as to what to do.
Your mother is on 3 antihypertensive medication, which might have caused low blood pressure and that's why all the symptoms are there.
If she has been taking losartan and atenolol without any side effects then discontinue hydralazine.
Get her blood pressure measured twice on the next day of stopping hydralazine, if it is under 139/89 mm/hg then no need to worry. Keep it checked every week till your on-call doctor returns from vacation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
