Suggest Treatment For Heavy And Painful Menstruation

I Normally have extremely painful and heavy periods (change pads and tampons every 1-2hours and no painkillers help) but this month i had an extremely light period (lasted 3/4 days and started 2 days early) however it was more like spotting for 2 days, a light bleed on and off for one day then spotting again. (one pad worth all week) i look a pregnancy test just in case on the last day of my period and it was negative. but since then i have been feeling more nauseous and extremely tired just doing everyday things and my breath are getting tender also. i am now 4 days after my period where i don t normally have problems. is there any other reason why i feel like this?

Hi,

Since you are feeling nauseous and tired you should take a repeat pregnancy test after 10-12 days if you were not on any birth control pills. Use the morning mid-stream urine as a sample & let it be done in a laboratory.

Till then stay away from stress, take ample sleep & stay well hydrated & nourished. You can visit a gynae & have pelvic examination or USG (Uterus) done if you are getting anxious & cannot wait.

Heavy & painful menstruation is commonly caused due to hormonal imbalance, uterine polyps, fibrosis, adenomyosis or endometriosis. Get investigations done so that the pathology causing it is evaluated & you get treated at the earliest. Treatment will depend upon the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
