I am a 76 year old male in good l, but I fell on my left hip ,nothing is broken but I do take a 325mg does of enteric aspirin,because I have 2 stents sice 2001 and 2010 , this happened on January 30th2013 ,I have a huge hematoma and my left leg is incredibly covered with dark blue shades of blood underneath the skin,there is quite a bit of pain in my hip any suggestions?
Thank you for contacting Healthcare Magic. This problem is a very common side effect from taking blood thinners like aspirin. You may notice more bruising and bruising or bleeding more easily. The hematoma is a natural occurrence after a trauma like a fall or hit. The hematoma will gradually resolve itself but if it is large it may take weeks to completely go away
