Suggest Treatment For Hematuria

Hi I have a appointment with specialist we'd but was wondering if I could get some answers now the doctors fount blood in my urine they said no infection and no kidney stones I have been passing blood two years I know but it took that long to found it wondering what it could be my mother had kidney cancer her mother bladder cancer I just one I pee slot with dull pain in back sweating and stay tired slot if I sneeze I pee Thanks for any help Lisa age 42 nc

Hi Lisa, thanks for the question. Hematuria is caused by infection or non infection disease. Infection that cause hematuria such as urinary tract infection (UTI). UTI includes cystitis (infection in bladder) or pyelonephritis (infection of kidney). Hematuria because of infection is associated with pain while urinating.

Non infection diseases that cause hematuria are urinary stone and cancer of urinary tract. Urinary stone cause hematuria with pain while urinating. Cancer of urinary tract such as bladder cancer or kidney cancer cause hematuria without pain while urinating (painless).

These conditions can be diagnosed by physical examination, urinalysis, ultrasound or CT scan of urinary tract.
