Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

There are 2 common types of hypothyroidism

1. Hashimoto's- here treatment is only Eltroxin. No dietary modifications or alternative medicine is effective

2. Iodine deficiency- Here dietary modifications like increased iodine intake and alternative medications like Ayurvedic or homeopathy medications may be effective. Still effective treatment here also is Eltroxin

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.

Regards,

Dr Ajish TP [MD,DM]
