Suggest Treatment For High Fever, Headache And Chills

Hi, my 14yo son has been laid up the last 4days with high fever(101-104), head ache, chills and no other symptoms. Yesterday he began to vomit up his liquids with chills and the sweats. Today he felt much better, low grade fever around 99-100 with no head ache. He ate and rehydrated all day. Tonight his head is starting to hurt again, somewhat with temp round 100. He is also complaining of sores on his tongue some of witch are small white spots. But he is still 90% better than the last 4 days. Hes up and about where he was bed ridden since last Thursday. His Dr. said to bring him in Tuesday if he wasn t any better. We saw hm sat at urgent care.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
With present symptoms the diagnosis can be typhoid or malaria depending on your climate. And it seems you live in a non malaria effected region. And hopefully your doctor has diagnosed it well. For typhoid treatment is one cap. Cefixime 400 PO × OD × 5 days. For vomiting one tab. Diphenhydramine PO × BD for fever one tab. Paracetamol × sos and lots of hydration.
