He has given me medicine (Nutricorp and Nucolate Plus and Eltroxin for thyroid) and has adviced me CT-Scan after 1 week. He said its more tha a level. I wnt to know that is it risky. Do I have to take some precaution for food, will it be cured?
Hi. Hypothyroidism results from lower secretion of thyroid hormone which is detected by low T3,T4 and high TSH. If patients TSH is between 5 to 10 with no symptoms of hypothroidism, it is called subclinical hypothyroidism which requires no treatment. In your case, Eltroxin is required only if you are having symptoms of Hypothyroidism such as easy fatiguability, body ache, constipation, menstrual irregularities or if ANTI-TPO is positive. IF you are non symptomatic and ANTI-TPO is negative you do not require treatment. with proper treatment and follow up it can be controlled and can lead a normal life, but cant be cured
