Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having indigestion for 7 weeks now. No pain, just discomfort. I continiously keep burping. I have went for an endoscopy and I have taken the medication by the doctors. The medication has no effect at all as it s like taking tic tacs. May I know how long can this last and is there a cure?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history indigestion for 7 weeks now, just discomfort, went for endoscopy and taking the medicines prescribed but no effects at all, wants to know how long can this last and whether there is a cure. This can last till your diagnosis has been made and proper management done. This is definitely curable unless and until the diagnosis shows the cause to be incurable. I would advise you the following: Test of stool for 3 consecutive days Tests of blood and urine. Ultrasonography of the abdomen. Clinical evaluation by a Doctor and an actual physical examination. Correlation of all the findings to decide the cause to get the proper diagnosis and a plan for treatment.
