Suggest Treatment For Irregular Bowel Movements

I had Gyroscopic hysterectomy in July. I have always had irregular bowel movements since I was young. However, I started back to work from my medical leave and seems to be very difficult to have a bowel movement even with Smooth Move tea, Benefiber, Miralax, nothing is working. I have been prescribed Amitiza on Monday and was wondering when it will take effect.

Dear- thanks for using HCM. Irregular bowel movements is a very common condition and sometimes we need to do a deep evaluation of what food we are eating and how we are eating in order to improve. Amitizia is a drug that helps constipation specially patients with irritable bowel syndrome, just make sure that you take it as indicated in the package because it can cause diarrhea if not taken with food and water. In addition to the medication, increase the fiber and water in your diet, all bran cereal is very good.You can add prune juice too.
