I'm having issues with holding my urine, I had that mesh bladder sling surgery 6yrs ago but i have noticed that for the last year that I cant hold much urine, constantly going anywhere from 10 - and up a day....my stomach is also swollen and tender, I'm so busy w kids/ job/ life that I ignore and keep moving. I made an appointment with the urologist that did my surgery for next week, but it seems that its not a "biggie" about the mesh bladder sling being in me, or thats the feeling I got....Should i be concerned??
Frequent urination can be due to many causes like urinary tract infection, stone in bladder or ureter, or sling eroding into urethra or intake of large quantity of water or overactive bladder. U must rule out all the above causes and then treat yourself. Get urine routine and culture and Ultrasound KUB to rule out infection and stone disease. If found should be treated with antibiotics or medications and may be surgery. Limit ur daily intake to 2.5 litres of water.Avoid coffee or tea. Reduce weight if obese. If these r fine, then get Cystourehtroscopy to rule out sling erosion. If all causes have been ruled out, then u may have overactive bladder. Try anticholinergics like Solifenacin and Tolterodine.
