Hi, I have a history of rashes and many stomach problems and it has been boiled down to IBS, gluten intolerance, nickel, cobalt, and ammonium persulfate. I have been having lots of occurences lately of red nose, or a completely red face and then break outs. This doesn't feel like normal acne. It flares up and is incredibly itchy. Most potent around my mouth (chin/and just straight down each side of my lips [as if the acne is "drooling" down my face]). My skin is very sensitive and because of this my allergist suggested I switch to fragrance free face care which I have. i can't figure out if it is an allergy or what it is but my face is so itchy and painful and embarassingly broken out. I dont know what to do. Please help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching and acne on face and you are taking many medications for systemic conditions so it could be due to their adverse effects. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing benzoyl peroxide then apply cream containing azelaic acid which is safe and very effective. Avoid use of make up cosmetics. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables also drink plenty of water. Exfoliate your skin with non comedogenic exfoliant once a week to remove dead skin. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment . Doctor may prescribe retinoid ointment and antibiotic like minocyclin. You can go for derma roller, microabrasion and laser therapy. Apply vitamin E before going to bed to fine texture of skin.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
