Suggest Treatment For Itchy Scalp After Taking Pain Medication

I am taking pain medication which contains codeine. My scalp is itching and I have a patch of scaly skin. The itching becomes worse with pain medicine. What can I do to stop the itching in my scalp? I have had three spine surgeries and the pain is most contained with drugs containing codeine.

Hi!! You should take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine and apply halobetasol lotion twice daily on the itchy areas of the scalp. Also use antiitch shampoo like sebowash on the scalp twice weekly. You have not mentioned the other salts you are talking for pain control apart from codeine as itching could be caused by them. You can consult your doctor and get them changed if possible.
