Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As you are 65 there will be degenerative changes in the knee joint. Any small injury occurs will lead to pain and swelling. For now, use the knee brace, take hot water fermentation, do static quadriceps and static hamstring along with ankle toe movements. Straight leg raise should also be included.

Do regular exercise for maintaining muscle strength and also improve the joint space.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
