Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain Caused By An Injury

I fell on my knee a few days ago....not really much swelling, no bruising, painful to touch in one area on knee cap. I can walk ok but hard to get up and down, but once up it s not too bad. On advil, I can still do my normal activities, but by evening, it really hurts when trying to get up and down.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an injury. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also recommend to maintain the area immobilized and use cold compresses for local application. I recommend to rest and maintain the knee elevated to help with the swelling and inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
