Suggest Treatment For Knuckle Joint Pain

A few months ago I took a hit to the middle knuckle in my middle finger (gun trigger guard hit it when firing). It hurt for a while after (couple of weeks). To this day I still pain when the finger is fully flexed or and with side movement of the finger. On occasion the knuckle will crack and hurt for a little while after. I figured it was just bruised or jammed initially but now I wonder if it's something else.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you need to get x ray of the hand to confirm the diagnosis. If there is any fracture or any piece of bone lying free then it can cause such symptoms, Though there is no need for any surgery for this thing as with time this part will remodel.
I would recommend you to get hot water fomentation, volini gel and compression bandage at night time.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks
