Suggest Treatment For Lack Of Menstrual Periods

i recently went through a very stressful time in my life. i was diagnosed with psychosis 8 months ago. the stress has been continuous and i have not been getting my periods. my blood tests revealed everything is fine but my oestrogen levels were so low they could not be measured. my doctor prescribed me with progynova 1mg daily. i have been taking them for 2 weeks and i am just wondering when will my period return? and will i have to stay on progynova permanently or is it just used to kick start the oestrogen production?

Hi,

Is this for the first time? Then if go for urine pregnancy test. If negative then go for the OC pills that leads to withdrawal bleeding. You have to take it for 6 month to regular bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Minakshi Biradar, OBGYN
