Suggest Treatment For Left Ear Pain

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I started having left ear pain 9 days ago, followed by a strange sensation on the left side of my scalp, similar to how a bruise would feel. Now I have a headache over my left eye, I am slightly disoriented at times and as of two hours ago, I have a strong metallic taste on the left side of my tongue. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The most common cause I can think about are one of the following:
- Central nervous system problem in the form of tumor
- Meningitis or so as the symptoms are one sided and involve many areas differently

Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult your Doctor immediately or go to ER.
- MRI of brain and specially related to the cranial nerves affected. This will also study the mastoid part of ear.

Second opinion of an ENT Surgeon or Neurosurgeon for further clinical evaluation, investigations and proper management as per the cause found.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
