Suggest Treatment For Low Urine Flow And Bladder Fullness
Hi Doctor, hope you are fine and well. My age is 46, my hight is 5ft. 11inch, and my weight is 76kg. I am having the following problems:
1) low flow of urine most of the time specially when i sit on the chair for longer time. some time the urine colour become dark brown and it also smell bad.
2) I feel very uncomfortable when I sit for long time in the office, I feel that my blader is enlarged but it is ok in ultrasound.
3) I have done urine complete picture but no infection came.
4) In altrasound I found that the left kidney has mild fullness
5) The size of both kidneys are ok and no stone has been seen.
6) All other organs are alright, I have no diabeties or lever problem.
Please guide me, my family physician has recommended the IVP, which I am reluctant due to fear of allergy from the fluid.

The basic complain is that u hv discomfort and decreased urine flow specially if sit for long. this is a bit natural.
Ideally u should void 2 hourly. If time exceeds ur bladder gets overdistended with urine... u hv discomfort specially in lower abd. Repeated similar delays in voiding, makes ur bladder less reflexic with decreased power of contraction resulting in decreased urine flow speed with more residual left inside. This will have negative emptying effect on kidneys which can gradually become hydronephrotic. This explains ur ultrasound finding. I don't think u need ivp.
what u need is restrict intake of water to 3litres approx daily. void every 2 hourly. Whn u void don't be in haste...give enough time to empty ur bladder until ur satisfaction. This should help.
