In my opinion i dont want you too worry on your husband this is usually due to the inflammation of his past shower injury that may have caused compression on his sciatic nerve roots causing such neuropathic pain . For now i suggest painkiller like advil tabs when needed , icing it for the 1st 48 hours , massaging it with topical gels , muscle relaxants will be effective for him .
