Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! My mother has severe pain in the left hip to the foot since past 15 days. She was picking a glass of rice from the floor and while getting up she felt as if a nerve went above another.and she had pain. Initially it was mild but for past 10 days it is severe. In no position she is comfortable. Doctors suggested X ray and then MRI scan. She has been diagnosed with lumbar spondolysis with diffuse annular bulges at L4-5 and L5-S1 levels causing thecal sac compression and moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis. Associated facetal arthrosis seen with mild bilateral ligamentum flavum hypertrophy.
My queries are
1. What should be the next step of treatment?
2. Is it 100% curable?
3. Will medicines help?
