Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! My knees are permanently sensitive (due to falling down numerous times ice skating one season) to the point where I cannot kneel on them without pain. Recently, I went ice skating again (thinking it would be alright) and then ended up falling a few more times. Normally, it would have been alright, but since my knees are always sensitive what ended up happening was that I got bad bruising and ended up with a very large and numb lump underneath my left knee. It s been about a week, maybe a little more. Will the lump and numbness go away with time? I m 20, physically in good shape, average weight and average height.
Dear patient Considering your case lump might be infrapatellar bursitis which is fluid collection below patella due to repeated trauma. You should go for ultrasound of left knee to confirm diagnosis. If it's collection it needs surgical excision. Visit expert arthroscopic surgeon nearby you and get it done. Also prevent repeated falling so that serious knee injury is avoided. Take training from expert for skating.
