Suggest Treatment For Lump In My Shoulder

I m a 24yr old female, 160lbs, with no abnormal medical history. I first noticed I had a lump on my back right underneath my right shoulder blade. I came to notice it when I think I turned a certain way and felt immediate pain, I touched it to see what it was and it was very painful to the touch on and all around it. I looked at it in the mirror and there was bruising. The next day it was still painful and had gotten bigger . The pain subsided the following day but the bump and the bruise were still there.I went to the Dr. about a wk and a half later and and the bumb by then had gotten smaller. My Dr. said it was a cyst that it was fine that I didn t have to have it removed because it wasn t hurting and it had leveled out. Approximately a wk-2wks later it swelled up again and was a little painful especially when I pushed on it and if I pushed my skin a certain way almost like getting under it was even more painful like a really hard pinch and if I moved my shoulder blades by pulling my elbows back it really pinched. It has now gotten smaller once again with no pain unless i really push underneath really hard but the bruise has not gone away. Should I be concerned?

Sometimes cysts can get infected, however it seems that your symptoms have resolved. A general surgeon can usually remove these cysts, and if they bother you, it's certainly reasonable to have it removed. I would let your primary care doctor know that cyst is bothering you, and that you would like a a referral to a general surgeon to remove it.
