Scars change rapidly withing first six months and then slowly upto 2 years. Any aggressive treatment for scars is generally not advisable upto first 6 months when there are rapid changes going on, except for few cases where there is substantial cosmetic problem. So my advice will be to be patient, apply the medicines advised by your dermatologist, these medicine show effect after applying for months. In the mean time you can protect yourself from direct exposure to sunlight to avoid tanning and may apply Photobloc (SPF 50) as scars have greater tendency to tan. Thanks
