Suggest Treatment For Memory Problem

My dad is 84 years old AND HAS lots of health problems. he has b een getting confused sorta In last week. he keeps repeating same thing over and over, but knows who we are. his blood work is ok except tsh is 7.4and week ago is was 3.1. he has been on same dose of synthroid for yeas. you cant even leave room, he is asking where you are, I need you he says. doctor didn t redo blood work, just doubled synthroid dose, made him couldn t swallow very good, said felt like something in throat that night. went back to regular dose. he stays awake for 2 or 3 days and nights and then sleeps for 2 days and then does same thing again. please advise
