Hi,

Though, some rare events have been reported about adverse effects of oral contraceptive pills. Still, these are almost safe to be used as contraceptive as well as for regulating the periods. There is no contra-indication of their use in ovarian cysts or even PCOS.

Rather, there are some well documented beneficial effects of these drugs including FEMODEN. Use of these have been reported to be associated with decreased incidence of ovarian carcinoma and endometrial carcinoma, as compared to the control group, who are not using oral contraceptive pills.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
