Suggest Treatment For Mid-abdominal And Epigastric Pain

recent mid-abdominal pain, epigastric. sudden onset.Had multiple tests done :lab,EKG,GB utrasound, & abdominal MRI. Results showed dilated common bile duct, possible polyp measured 5cm ,no other stones noted. All lab WNL.No elevated WBC. I have been advised to have GB out d/t polyp that can possibly turn into cancer. The recommendations came from ER DR & General surgeon. I hope to have appt w/ GI specialist once referred.pain was gone prior to leaving ER.since have eaten as usual.Seems to me there is no urgency & I actually question if GB need to come out ?wanting a 2nd medical opinion, please. thank-you !

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is not the medical emergency what you have stated here. It all depends upon the clinical condition and if the symptoms are severe then it can be taken at the earliest else, it is the planned surgery. It is good to have a second and third opinion and discuss about the medical management besides the surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
