Suggest Treatment For Mild Chest Pain Post An Injury

Hi Doctor, two months ago while lifting my husband to stop him from going down to the floor I felt and heard a pop in the left side of my chest. My breathing was also affected. My Dr said it was a ligament injury. Now I m still having pain on a daily basis and it seems to be on the side of my body and in the center part of my chest and also have breathing problems when I talk a lot or walk quickly. Laying, standing sitting makes no difference. Now my Dr wishes me to have a stress test. But I don t think it has anything to do with my heart. What do you think?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be just a contusion. As a first line management you can take analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief. Generally the symptoms will settle in couple of days.

If symptoms persists you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
