Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 1 year old has been sick since Friday night. He out of no where had a mild fever on and off then the next day he didn t want to eat anything he has thrown up a totally 4 times since Friday night to now. And has had very little appetite. What could this be the stomach bug? Should I be concern and take him to the doctor or should I be fine at him and let him heal himself?
I don't think you should worry. Such illness is common in children and mostly caused by a virus that heals itself. I personally understand at the moment there is no need to take him to doctor. Give him more and more fluids. Give paracetamol for fever and observe. I hope he will be fine in a few days.
However, if he feels very sick, dehydrated, refuses foods, or persistent vomiting then you should take him to the doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
