Suggest Treatment For Misbehaving And Yelling In Kids

We have a 16 yr old son who often begins to yell at the top of his lungs when things do not go his way while video gaming. He also swears and does alot of negative name calling. He also rages at us that he does not want to be interrupted when he is playing his video games. We force him to get off the computer and have no gaming rights for a certain amount of time.

He is an only child, but knowing that he could become entitled to things, we have actively tried to keep him from feeling entitled by giving him negative consequences when he misbehaves. We've tried hard with, but I still think he has some entitlement issues???

In my opinion you should continue the negative consequences he gets when he misbehaves. The other thing you can try is when he is in a calm state talk to him about your preferences. Tell him yelling and swearing will not be tolerated by you and ask him to suggest a way you should deal with him when he does it. When a pre determined plan and the consequences are devised together it will be easier for you to implement it and easier for him to accept it.
