Suggest Treatment For Mood Swings, Impaired Thinking And Sleep Issues Post Head Injury

I fell & hit my head 8 years ago. I experienced mood wings, sleep issues, poor decision making. I ve spent most of this time in therapy and on a wide range of medications. I quit my job with benefits ie disability & I have struggled financially & emotionally ever since. I just recently quit seeing my specialist & taking all the medications I was prescribed because I could no longer afford them. I m finally beginning to feel like myself again but with slower thought process. Its like I ve just woke up. I ve gone through countless jobs and I m ruined financially. I ve blown through my retirement & kids college fund. I ve lost property that I used as collateral to take out loans. I m losing my home to foreclosure. I have a job making $11 an hour which is more than I ve made since I quit my position as an insurance agent making over 6 figures in 2011. I ve filed Chapt 13 and I m struggling to keep up with those payments. Any advise of how to start over?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The issue with mood swings, impaired thinking and sleep disturbances after the previous head injury, indicates residual effects over certain parts of cerebrum or other vital brain regions. A detailed medical evaluation with fresh MRI examination of the brain is a must to proceed with the basic steps in this case. Till that time, meditations and YOGA are best supportive tools to help on long run basis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
