Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Diarrhea

I recently started getting these really weird hot flashes that start at the top of my head and slowly travel through my body and it immediately causes me to be nauseated and have diarrhea. Then once I go to the bathroom, I am supper cold, major headache on the back part of my head and right side as well. I can hear my heart beating (or swishing sound in my left ear only) any ideas? The hospital did at a ct scan and didn't find anything and just gave me fluids and sent me home.

Dear- thanks for taking the time to ask your question to us. First of all, hot flashes could be secondary to abnormal levels of sodium,potassium and chloride that happens when you have diarrhea.The reason that you get cold and with headache when you move your bowel is because the acute changes in the body's electrolytes and fluid concentration just after you have diarrhea.The body contracts in order to try to keep a balance and that makes you sweat and cold. In addition to that, your heart starts beating faster to compensate this acute episode of diarrhea and you can feel it pounding in your ear. The treatment is fluid replacement and watch the response. Most of the time, it is secondary to a viral infection and it goes away in 24-48hrs.
